In plain words
- Your video does not go to us. It travels from your phone to your computer across your own network.
- No account. You do not give us a name, email address or phone number to use the apps.
- No analytics, advertising or tracking in the apps or on this website.
- The connection between your phone and computer is not encrypted yet. See Security.
Who we are
CamNexo is made by Yantrix Labs (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the CamNexo phone app, the CamNexo desktop app (including its virtual camera component) and this website. You can contact us at .
What the apps do with data
Everything below happens on your own devices or between them. None of it is sent to us.
| What | Why | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Camera video from your phone | To show your picture as a webcam on your computer | Sent directly to your computer on your local network. The apps do not save it. The desktop app shows a live preview and hands frames to the virtual camera. |
| Name and address of the computer you last used | To reconnect automatically | Stored only on your phone. |
| Your computer's name, announced on the network | So your phone can find it (the announcement looks like “CamNexo-” followed by the computer name) | Visible to other devices on the same local network while the desktop app is open. |
| Technical log files | To help diagnose problems with the virtual camera | Stored on your computer (in the CamNexo folder under ProgramData). They contain technical messages, not video. We do not receive them unless you choose to send one to us. |
Phone permissions
- Camera: to capture the picture you stream.
- Network and Wi-Fi access (including multicast): to find your computer and send the stream to it.
- Foreground service and notifications: to keep streaming when you switch apps, and to show a notification with a Stop button while the camera is on.
- Keep awake: to stop the phone's processor and Wi-Fi sleeping while you stream.
The apps do not use your microphone, location, contacts, photos or files, and they do not read your advertising ID.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your video, your identity, your location, your contacts, device identifiers for advertising, or usage analytics. The apps do not contain third-party analytics or advertising code.
Your video call apps
When you pick “CamNexo” as the camera in Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, OBS or another app, that app receives your video as it would from any webcam. What it does with the video is covered by that app's own privacy policy, not this one.
Security
Please read this. In the current early-access versions the video stream between your phone and your computer is not encrypted and the computer does not check which phone is connecting. Anyone on the same local network who can reach your computer's CamNexo port could connect to it or observe the stream.
Use CamNexo on networks you trust, such as your home or office Wi-Fi, and avoid public, hotel or shared Wi-Fi. Pairing and encryption are planned. When they ship we will update this policy and the safety notes.
This website
This website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers, and it does not load fonts or scripts from other companies. Like most websites, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, time and the page requested) for security and reliability. We use them only for that.
If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply and to keep a record of the conversation.
Children
CamNexo is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Because the apps do not send us personal data, we generally hold none about you. If you have written to us, you can ask what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it, and we will respond within a reasonable time and as required by the law that applies to you. To do this, contact .
Changes to this policy
If we change what the apps do with data, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect. Material changes will also be mentioned in the app or on the download page.
